THE LION KING JR MUSICAL LaVilla School of the Arts Drama Department Review Dick Kerekes & Leisla Sansom [email protected] presented Disney’s “” for a three-day run during November 19 – 21, 2015 at the school in Jacksonville, Florida. The Lion King roared as a cast of twenty-eight students and one adult non-student appeared on stage in an adaptation of the hit Broadway musical created especially for middle school students. LaVilla One Act Plays: Upon a Sea of Dreams & Discovering Rogue

The LaVilla School of the Arts presented two one-act plays as their annual Spring Production. The school does two major productions each year. Last fall, LaVilla did the musical School House Rock, which went on to the District Thespians and State Thespian Festival in Melbourne Florida. LaVilla is a magnet school with students from every corner of Duval county in the sixth, seventh, and eighth grades. Many students continue their education at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts or Stanton College Prep.
