 made its debut Saturday November 1, 2014 on the main stage of  with performances at 8:00 and 10:30 pm. The Dual Critics attended the first show which had nearly a full house; an excellent crowd considering Jacksonville was under the spell of the Florida-Georgia game which takes over the city once a year. This innovative musical has remained popular since it was nominated for six Tony Awards in 2005 and garnered two, for Best Book of a Musical and Best Actor. “RENT” Players By The Sea theatre review

 and The  present “,” the Tony and Pulitzer prize- winning musical by playwright Jonathan Larson. Larson died, tragically and unexpectedly, on the morning of the play’s first Off-Broadway preview performance in 1996. The play moved to Broadway in April, where it remained for a run of twelve years. The revival at Players opened on July 18th, 2014 and will be on stage until August 9th. Review: Venus In Fur at PBTS

Players by the Sea opened ‘ provocative and risqué “” on June 6, 2014. The drama is an adaption by Ives of the 1870 novella by Austrian writer Leopold von Sacher-Masoch entitled “”. The play opened in 2010 Off Broadway, and transferred to Broadway in 2011 where it became a hit. The play received a Tony nomination for Best Play, actress  received a Tony Award for Best Actress. St. Augustine’s Limelight Theatre opened the month of March with a bang with its revival production of ‘s “.” Henley is best known for her Pulitzer Prize winning play, “,” a play written in 1978 that is still widely done by community theatres all over the country.
