Moon Over the Market is a tasting event brought to you by GastroJax, and the First Coast Chapter of FRLA, featuring the iconic Jacksonville Farmers Market. Included in your ticket price will be tastes from local food providers, an adult beverage, and samples from the next generation of chefs as they are mentored in a competition using food from the market. Market guides will be on hand to tell you about the history of the market as you walk through!

High School ProStart Culinary Students will be cooking with mentorship from local chefs such as Chef Nedal Mardini, reigning champion of the Extreme Food Fights and sous chef to Hobnob, Chef Rosaria Anderson of Thischickcancook, Chef Chris Cooper of The Soul Food Bistro, and Chef Brian Shreve of Trasca & Co Eatery. Students will be judged two ways: by a judge’s panel for the popular vote. All general ticket holders can taste, but we ask that you vote on your favorite to benefit the best with a voting ticket, because proceeds from those go directly to the school of your choice! Just $2!

The Jacksonville Farmers Market will stay open until 7 p.m. so that you can experience the vendors, both local and exotic, but the party continues to 8:30 p.m. Stay tuned for updates here! Ticket price ($35) includes all tastes at the market (10!), tastes from the student competitors, AND a cocktail of your choice. (Cash Bar after, unlimited daiquiris). If you’d like to vote in the student competition, buy a $2 ticket to support your favorite, with all proceeds of the votes going to each school. Come Hungry!
