Suwanee Hulaween the annual music festival with a Halloween theme and hosted by Jam Band Superstars “The String Cheese Incident” is back for the fourth consecutive year. The three day festival kicks off Thursday the 27th with a special Pre-Party, and will run through Sunday the 30th.
Hulaween is held outdoors in the beautiful and sprawling Spirit of Suwannee Music Park that boasts over 800 acres of primitive camping along with RV hookups and the park offers cabin rentals for those music fans that would prefer a more pampered dance party weekend!
The layout of the Suwannee also offers easy access to the River that gives the park its name. The festival will feature three stages and over 70 musical acts from almost every musical genre. In addition to the music this year’s Hula will once again feature numerous art installations centered around the Spirit Lake which transforms into the late night epicenter and a great place to make take pictures and catch your breath from the non-stop rocking that accompanies this uber fun event.
This year’s shenanigans are hosted once again by live music event veterans, Silver Wrapper and Purple Hat Productions who have done an amazing job maximizing the fan experience at the Suwannee each and every year, with this installment being the biggest and most musically eclectic yet, and what else could we expect when the event is hosted by everyone’s favorite bluegrass, funk, electronic, country, reggae, progressive rock with a hint of psychedelia super group, The String Cheese Incident, who have influenced and entertained thousands of live music lovers over their 23 year career. Their captivating showmanship, and splendid musical diversity, and elaborate stage production play perfectly with the Halloween theme and every attendee is encouraged to wear costumes and decorate their tents, golf carts, and each other!
Scheduled to play seven sets the headliners will have it all on display. In addition to “Cheese”, festival goers will be treated to a Friday late night performance by 2015 Grammy nominees for best Alternative album, My Morning Jacket, who offer a blistering and diversified live concert experience as well, that is sure to light up the midnight sky and keep everyone warm by providing music you cannot help but dance too!
Other heavy hitters include another Grammy nominated act in the English electronic duo Disclosure and the introspective American rapper Logic, and former Primus front man Les Claypool who will play for the second consecutive year this time with Sean Lennon who form the appropriately named “The Claypool Lennon Delirium” currently on tour in support of their debut full length summer release album “Monolith of Phobos”! Other acts that are definitely not to be missed include Sound Tribe Sector Nine, Lettuce, Umphrey’s McGee, Big Gigantic, and Snarky Puppy, all together in one of the most enchanting and welcoming venues in the country.
If you haven’t been to a festival in the Suwannee Music park then you are missing one of the best live music experiences anywhere. In short, this is going to be a weekend of great music, great weather and about as much fun as can be had in four days!
