October 10th Garth Brooks made his first Florida appearance on The World Tour and returned to Jacksonville for the first time in over 17 years. Garth will be performing with his wife Trisha Yearwood for six  shows October 10th thru 12th and again 16th thru 18th at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena.

This is a significant moment for Jacksonville, aiming to be a top destination for entertainment. “This is a big deal for Jacksonville,” says Mayor Alvin Brown. “We’re honored to host music legend Garth Brooks as he embarks on his long-awaited world concert tour. He’s a fan favorite with incredible stage presence. Along with the great success of the Florida Country Superfest earlier this summer and Paul McCartney’s upcoming concert in October, it shows that Jacksonville is a premier venue for music’s top talent.”

SMG General Manager, Bill McConnell says “We are so thrilled that Garth Brooks personally selected Jacksonville as the third stop in his history-making 2014-15 World Tour. Garth is now the top-selling solo recording artist in the history of music, ahead of Elvis, and second only to the Beatles in total sales. That he would select Veterans Memorial Arena and SMG Jacksonville to be such an important part of his tour is yet another example of how Jacksonville is making a mark on the nation-wide entertainment scene.” He adds “Garth has ensured an affordable ticket price, with multiple performances, and we have every confidence that the people of the greater Jacksonville/North Florida region will turn out with pride to support this historical run and believe fans from all over the world will travel to Jacksonville for an experience of a lifetime.”
