The Crisp-Ellert Art Museum (CEAM) and Flagler College are proud to present a new solo exhibition: ‘en la noche prevalece un corazón lleno’ featuring Spanish artist Pablo Vindel. Curated by former director Julie Dickover, the exhibition will be on view from October 4th through November 26th. The artist will lead a walkthrough of the exhibition on Friday, October 4th, 5 PM – 8 PM during the First Friday Artwalk. This event is free and open to the public.

Vindel holds degrees in both fiber and material studies and poetry in the expanded field. The title of his exhibition, loosely translating to “in the night a full heart prevails,” alludes to an excerpt from Vindel’s mother’s poem published in 1976. The show is a constellation of familial relationships, an homage to those he loved and lost, giving the process of grief and acceptance tangible form.

Starting in Jacksonville in 2012, WasabiCon is Northeast Florida’s largest and Jacksonville’s longest running pop culture convention. The event focuses on five key facets of fandom: Anime (including Manga & Asian Culture), Cosplay, Kpop, Tabletop Gaming, and Video Games. WasabiCon 2024 will be October 11-13, 2024 at the Prime F. Osborn III Convention Center in Jacksonville, Florida.

The inaugural Music Tour will celebrate Riverside
& Avondale’s rich musical history. This fall event
will feature performances across eight unique
stages, each narrating a different story of musical
moments and people that have shaped our
community including memorabilia.

The event focuses on individuals from our community, locally written music with global significance, and the influence of musicians in the past on music today. Jacksonville and Riverside offer well-known and untold stories of music worth sharing! Similar to Home Tour and Garden Tour, the event includes:⁠

• Mini concerts throughout the tour⁠ w/ local bands⁠
• Pop-up exhibits and memorabilia⁠
• Headliner performance from The Curt Towne Band
• Silent Disco with Hush Hush Headphones

The Music Tour will share our community’s music history at multiple distinct locations throughout Riverside including homes, yards, parks, and businesses. Unlike a typical music festival with centralized stages, the Music Tour will offer a program and walkable route to unassuming stages and locations throughout the district, limited to 1,000 people!

Curt Towne Band, Dyer Davis Group, Ebonique, 1 Black Frend, Willie B. Evans, Cosmic Link/Stono Echo, Grant Nielsen, Hush Hush Headphones, Michael Fitzgerald – Author, Tamatha Cain – Author, Tim Gilmore – Author, Darren Ronan, Mike Bernos with AmpleAngst, The Kimballs, Duval County Line, Idle Acres, Siichaq, Tabeersco and more!

All ticket purchasers will receive a program and map, a wristband for entry at each stage, headphones for Hush Hush Jax Silent Disco, and a custom Spotify Playlist! This totally walkable event is focused on the area surrounding Willowbranch Park. Addresses for each stage will be kept private until closer to the event to protect homeowners’ privacy, but ticket purchasers will receive a code for the Art Bikes Jax app that will provide walking instructions, narration, audio cues, and more available on October 12 and after.

At only $20 per ticket, this event will sell out fast.

October 16, please join Hubbard House at the Prime F. Osborn III
Convention Center for the annual Barbara Ann Campbell Memorial Breakfast. This
domestic violence awareness event will include motivational remarks, inspiring
survivor stories and remembrances of lives lost, reminding us why Hubbard
House’s work – our work as a community – matters so much.

Join ONE CHURCH JACKSONVILLE BEACH for a TRUNK OR TREAT
celebration. Inflatables, games, hot dogs and CANDY! Kids of all ages. Wear

Jacksonville PorchFest presented by Corner Lot’s Corner on Main returns to Historic Springfield for its 10th Anniversary on Saturday, November 9, 2024.

Presented by Corner Lot’s Corner on Main, Jacksonville PorchFest is a FREE, family- and dog-friendly music festival held on the beautiful front porches of the Historic Springfield community, just north of Downtown Jacksonville, Florida. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, November 9th and will feature over 20 musical acts performing from 12 PM – 8 PM, plus food trucks, craft beer, art vendors, and more.

The festival will feature a main stage and headliner to close out the night in Klutho Park. Headliner and band lineup announcements coming soon. VIP tickets – including access to the VIP Area with complimentary beer, wine, and food – can be purchased on the Jacksonville PorchFest website.

Proceeds from the festival support public arts in Jacksonville’s Urban Core. Since PorchFest began in 2014, proceeds have funded more than a dozen public art installations including murals, sculptures, painted crosswalks, and more.

Champagne for Change is an annually hosted black tie fundraising event expressively designed to bring awareness to the needs concerning the urban core communities of Jacksonville.   The goal for this event is to raise enough funds to provide a stipend to a high school student on their way to college, sponsor 5 families for Christmas by providing toys and food (where needed) as well as provide a monetary endorsement to local minority owned business.

Inspired by the Radio City Rockettes, our 7th annual Christmas Spectacular features 90 dancers from the Dance Companies of Wehner’s School Of The Arts, accompanied by the professional musicians of Wehner Weddings. This is a family event for all ages.
