A DUAL CRITICS REVIEW The Atlantic Beach Experimental Theatre opened the final show of its 26th season with the hilarious comedy Red, White and Tuna. The play, by French playwright Marc Camoletti, debuted in Paris in 1960, where it remained on stage for nineteen years. The English translation opened in London in 1962, where it ran for seven years. An American version staged on Broadway in 1965 closed after a short run, but was then made into a successful film with stars Tony Curtis and Jerry Lewis. Downtown Jacksonville’s The 5 & Dime Theatre went back to 1970 – almost five decades ago – to present Stephen Sondheim’s musical “Company,” which opened on April 20th, 2018. Remarkably, this Tony Award winner is just as relevant today as when it first opened on Broadway. Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jason Aldean and Kid Rock will co-headline a day of music and fun on Sunday, Sept. 2 at EverBank Field in Jacksonville, Fla. The concert will be a special homecoming for the band as they return to perform where their legacy began over 40 years ago.
