It’s Julia F***ing Gulia !

It’s Julia F***ING Gulia! By Ambar Ramirez   You may have driven by the beach bars on a Monday night to see a line forming outside of Lynch’s and asked yourself why would anybody go to a bar on a Monday night. Well, there is a good reason for that and that’s to see Julia Gulia. And yes… the name comes from the movie “Wedding Singer” for all of you wondering.    Before Julia Gulia, bandmates Andrew Jones, John Jones and Mark McHone were just a bunch of musicians trying to make it in the world. Lead singer and guitarist …

Hey, Russell Dickerson: She Likes It!

Country singer-songwriter Russell Dickerson has come a long way from performing at coffee houses in his native Tennessee to headlining tours in the U.S. and across the pond. In the process, he’s also had four consecutive career-starting singles hit No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, making him only the second solo artist to do so in chart history. (Luke Combs was the first if you were wondering.) But even more impressive, according to staff writer Kerry Speckman who interviewed Dickerson ahead of his Feb. 17 show at Florida Theatre, is his ability to transform music lovers who can’t …

Best Local Musician: Vince Jones

Best Local Musician: Vince Jones Upon hearing the name Vince Jones, I immediately thought of a rockstar or someone I had to have known. It turns out, I wasn’t too far off: Jones is a part of the local band Blistur (which has won “Best Original Band” and “Best Cover Band” for three years in a row). And as Blistur’s newest band member, it’s Jones’ turn to shine.  Born and raised in upstate New York, Jones has been surrounded by music all his life, specifically his mother (a singer and keyboard player) and sister (a singer and bass player). And …
