Bambino Scoops, A Little Taste of Europe in Jacksonville

Jacksonville has quite a few ice cream and frozen custard shops, but there is only one place serving delicious, homemade gelato. Bambino Scoops is located in the Cobblestone shopping plaza in East , at the intersection of Monument and McCormick. Owners Maria Gallo and Manuel Ponce have been operating the shop since June of 2019, after buying the name from the previous owner. The inside of the shop is very whimsical with various posters and action figures throughout. “We brought our favorite characters,” Manuel explained. He collects figures from The Simpsons and various other comics, so they wanted to incorporate …

Mini Bar Donuts Lights Up Jacksonville Beach

What’s better than donuts? Mini-donuts! They’re smaller, so that means you eat more of them. My favorite flavors are Strawberry Pop Tarts and Fruity Pebbles, but there are many flavors to choose from: Sweet Pete’s Sea Salt Caramel, Mint Chocolate Chip, S’mores, Maple Bacon, Strawberry Sprinkle, and Lemon Poppy to name a few. The demand has been so high that they moved a wall to make room for another prep table. Mini …

Cowford Chophouse is the new kid on the block (in specifically), and it’s on everyone’s restaurant hit list. I sat down with Sweet Shop Production Manager Sarah Nieves to talk all things sweet. Did you go to culinary school? I went to the International Culinary Center which used to be the French Culinary Institute in New York. Why did you choose that out of all culinary schools? …
