The film fest is largely defunct, but the non-profit under that name is looking to hold screenings throughout the year. Durden Godfrey is a Jacksonville director, working with Jacksonville talent and shooting in Jacksonville. He’s known for his music videos and slasher type films. The 5 & Dime, Jacksonville’s downtown theatre company, opened its first play of 2018 with “The Walls,” by Lisa Dillman. The production opened on February 16th and will remain on stage through March 4th. Playwright Dillman has written several plays; this is the first performed in Jacksonville. s staging is the second production of this play, which debuted in 2009 at Ms. Dillman’s homebase, the Rivendell Theatre Ensemble in Chicago. Mofro co-founder Daryl Hance has a new video for the song “Inside” from 2016’s Wild Blue Iris album. Should be good for a few laughs! It’s a comedy performance piece and another loose tribute to the Beastie Boys’ style of video making. Even had the gear on with the sweats and knit cap, but only because it was really cold. He had a pretty good time making this one.
