5 Points, Feature, Food + Drink, Local Sweets, Riverside
is the fabulous brainchild of ’ head baker Calli Marie. In the past year, Calli has become a bonafide Jacksonville social media star, due to her quirky sensibilities as well as her unique cakes that combine beauty and flavor in a delightfully playful manner. Trained in the kitchens at the , Calli Marie honed her craft in a number of local Jacksonville bakeries before she fatefully landed at BREW Five Points. When she began baking as a pro shortly after finishing culinary school in 2013, Calli found herself making traditionally beautiful cakes that were chock full of artificial and lower …

and are presenting the inaugural at Hemming Park in downtown Jacksonville on Saturday, August 15, 2015 from 6-9pm. This event is being held as a fundraiser to benefit the , a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Surprisingly, it will be the first major beer festival to be hosted in Hemming Park. It goes without saying that some restaurants have better bars than others, and that sometimes a particular place will be better for satisfying a specific craving than others. For the sake of brevity, these four restaurants provide a good mix of tasty food and delightful libations that make them some of …

Dish Update, Drink, Food + Drink, San Marco, Southbank
is the latest craft cocktail bar to open in the Jacksonville core, in a convenient location along Hendricks Avenue in the San Marco area. It is in the same building as , which is a Neapolitan-style pizza place. It also happens to be right up the street from . All in all, this area is beginning to hop with nightlife possibilities. Sidecar is the literal dark side of the building it shares with V Pizza, with its half painted in a dark gray with a black awning and a small wooden sign. The space itself is surprisingly large, with a …
