High Springs, Florida, known for its charming small-town atmosphere, is now becoming a hotbed for musical talent as an ambitious young country singer/songwriter aims to make it big in the heart of the country music scene. Meet Cliff Dorsey, a rising star with a voice that echoes the soul of the South and lyrics that tell tales of life, love and everything in between.

Born into a family with deep roots in the town, Dorsey discovered his love for country music at a young age, listening to the timeless classics that echoed throughout family gatherings. Being raised in such a diverse state like Florida, it is almost rare to find people who are generally considered Southern unless you are along the Panhandle. Dorsey, on the other hand, was raised near farmers in a one-light town where all he knew were the Southern traditions you would likely see in the states above us.

After developing his voice in the church through the worship team, he decided it was time he practiced what he preached. He took time to perfect his passions by learning some of his favorite tunes growing up, from the likes of Josh Turner and Tracy Chapman. He had always admired George Strait, especially the way he could get on stage and compel an audience with just a stool and a microphone, no crazy dancing or theatrics involved.

Dorsey’s music is a fusion of traditional country roots and a contemporary twist, resonating with fans who appreciate the genre’s rich history while embracing its modern evolution. His heartfelt ballads and foot-stomping anthems showcase a versatility that sets him apart in the competitive world of country music. His charting song “New Neon” puts this range on display, showcasing his ability to merge the things about old and new country that everyone gravitates to. Taking more inspiration from those before him, “Raise One” sounds like a track pulled straight from an older Toby Keith album with its proud and patriotic lyrics and tone that can lift anyone out of their seat.

The journey from High Springs to the heart of the country music industry is no easy feat, and Cliff Dorsey is well aware of the challenges he faces. Navigating through the complexities of the music business, he remains grounded and focused on honing his craft, determined to stay true to his roots. Dorsey’s music resonates with the authenticity of small-town living, and he hopes to carry the spirit of his upringings with him as he aspires to make a mark on the national stage. The heroes he looks up to has motivated him to make a change in the industry, while also having a good time doing it. While most artists have aspirations of fame and fortune, Dorsey wants nothing more than to start a family and be happy doing what he loves. He obviously would love making money, but more wants to utilize it by setting his family up for a life he has dreamed about from a young age.

As he continues to chase his dreams, the small town of High Springs watches with pride and anticipation. With his soulful voice and compelling storytelling, this young country singer/songwriter is on a trajectory that could see his name in bright lights on the Nashville skyline. From church performances to center stage, Cliff Dorsey is poised to make his hometown a proud beacon in the world of country music.

Throughout his childhood, you could always find Carson Rich with his eyes glued to the screen watching Sportcenter every morning before school. Now as an aspiring sports journalist at Folio Weekly, he looks to take after the people he used to look up to. Even when he is not writing about sports, he's usually at home binging old highlights or catching up on the latest news in sports.
