Launched in 1958, WAPE started as Top 40 station and from 1959 through the early ‘70s it’s certain that every teenager living along the coast from Daytona Beach to Wilmington, North Carolina was a faithful listener. Fast forward to today and WAPE is still kicking ass and taking names one of the highest rated stations in the area — and a favorite with “Folio” readers.
