FARM AID 2019 PHOTO ESSAY

Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp organized the first Farm Aid concert in 1985 to raise awareness about the loss of family farms and to raise funds to keep farm families on the land. Dave Matthews joined the Board of Directors in 2001. The organization has raised $57 million to promote a strong and resilient family farm system of agriculture. It’s a nonprofit organization whose mission is to keep family farmers on the land.

Over 30,000 music lovers and farm supporters attended the 34th Farm Aid in Alpine Valley in eastern Wisconsin on September 21st. All food served that day was sourced from small family farms in the Midwest and featured many organic products.
