Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2019 Record Prediction
The predictions on Post to Post Links II error: No link found for term slug "feud-sports" continue! A much anticipated debut in The Bay by Bruce Arians and his new look offense with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers left a lot to be desired. Jameis Winston and the offense couldn’t find its footing, as they only found pay dirt one time.
Tampa faithful are hoping for a quick turn around as they are now chasing New Orleans for the division. Is the postseason in the future, or will the Bucs’ be partying on the ship come playoff time?
Predictions for the rest of the season are below. If you didn’t catch the predictions for the Jaguars and the Dolphins, be sure to check out their predicted fate as well.
Week 2: Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Carolina Panthers
The Bucs’ first division matchup against Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers comes early. The Panthers have a stout defense but their secondary can’t contain the Mike Evans and Chris Godwin show. This game will be the early coming out party for rookie Devin White. The Panthers will rely on their run game to lead the offense and White will be there all four quarters to squash those plans. Bucs win 27-13!
Week 3: New York Giants @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Can the Bucs make it three straight wins to start the season? The Giants and star running back, Saquon Barkley, are going to bring their best efforts to town to stop the momentum but Barkley alone will not be enough to stop the train and the Bucs will keep the streak going, Bucs win 27-13! I expect Mike Evans and Chris Godwin both to have 100-yard games.
Week 4: Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Los Angeles Rams
This week the Bucs head to LA to face the Rams. The story of this game will be the Bucs o-line vs the Rams defensive line. Aaron Donald, Clay Matthews and Dante Fowler Jr. will all be looking to wreak havoc on the Bucs o-line putting the pressure on QB Jameis Winston. Sadly, the short streak ends here, Rams send the Bucs home sitting at .500. Rams win 31-10.
Week 5: Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ New Orleans Saints
The first of two matchups against the Saints this season will prove a tough test for a Bucs’ team reeling from their second loss of the season. The Saints high powered offense will put Tampa’s defense to the test. Star wide-receiver Michael Thomas will have the Bucs secondary running frantic all game. Sadly, this game lacks any form of the “Fitzmagic” that helped them win against the Saints last season. Saints win a close game 28-21.
Week 6: Carolina Panthers @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Week 6 brings the last of the Bucs’ two matchups against the Panthers in 2019. Coming off two losses the Buccaneers will look to get back on track this week and head back home with a win. The story looks to be the same for the Panthers this week and the Bucs send them home with a loss. Bucs get back on track and beat the Panthers in a close one, 17-16.
Week 8: Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Tennessee Titans
The Bucs make their way to Tennessee this week to face the Titans. Mike Vrabel’s defense will put the pressure on Jameis Winston in week 8 and cause the QB to commit those turnovers that have been too often a problem for the Bucs QB. Tampa’s defense can’t do enough to stop the Titans from out scoring the Bucs this week and the Titans send Tampa Bay home with a loss. Titans win 14-10.
Week 9: Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Seattle Seahawks
There isn’t much of a way to spin this game. The Seahawks will be too much for the Buccaneers. The pass rush combination of Ansah and Clowney combined with the wrecking force of Bobby Wagner on defense will suffocate Winston and have him scrambling for his life for the duration. On offense Russel Wilson will be given oft opportunity to put up points and will capitalize on those opportunities. Seahawks win 34-10.
Week 10: Arizona Cardinals @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Kyler Murray and the Cardinals come to town week 10. After suffering their worst loss of the season, the Bucs’ come to play with a vengeance. As Bruce Arians faces his former team for the first time since coming out of retirement the Bucs’ won’t let him suffer a defeat. The air raid stops in Tampa this week. Jameis Winston and the Bucs offense will be operating on all cylinders this week surpassing 40 points for the first time all season. Buccaneers win 42-14.
Week 11: New Orleans Saints @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Saints come to town week 11 and will prove once again they’re just the better team. By week 11 the Saints will be on their way to sealing a playoff berth and don’t plan on letting the Buccaneers stop them. The Bucs put up a strong effort, but the Saints offense proves to be too good once again. Saints win 27-14.
Week 12: Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Atlanta Falcons
Julio Jones and the Atlanta Falcons welcome the Bucs to town in week 12 and the Falcons will be looking towards the playoffs. At this point the Bucs can salvage their season by winning out and will have to be on point every game going forward. Both teams have a lot on the line but the Bucs will overpower the Falcons riding on a big game from Jameis Winston and star receiver Mike Evans. Bucs win and help keep the season alive 21-20.
Week 13: Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Jacksonville Jaguars
This week the Buccaneers make the short trip to Jacksonville to battle the Jaguars. The Jags possess a strong combination of a fearsome pass rush and stout secondary forcing opposing QBs to be at their best every week. Jacksonville hopes to be on the path to the playoffs and welcoming Nick Foles back around this time. The cats don’t plan on letting Tampa Bay stop them. This week Ramsey and the Jags will force Winston to have his worst game of the season, throwing multiple interceptions and not throwing a single touchdown. Jags win 16-3.
Week 14: Indianapolis Colts @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The “Luck-less” Colts come to Raymond James Stadium week 14 to face the Bucs. Jameis is coming off his worst game of the season and wont fair much better this week. Even with a mistake riddled game Winston will rely on his plethora of weapons to make the most of their opportunities this week and put up just enough points to keep the game out of reach for Indy. I expect this game to be an old school defensive matchup. Bucs do enough to grab the win and beat the Colts 13-10.
Week 15: Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Detroit Lions
It’s week 15 and the Buccaneers are thinking postseason! Still with three games to play every week gives opposing teams an opportunity to crush those hopes. The Lions won’t be the team to do it this week. The Bucs defense will force the Lions to force multiple mistakes and falter on the offensive side of the ball. Jameis and his receiving core will capitalize on the Lions mistakes and control the time of possession this week, not giving the Lions much of a chance to catch up once they’re down. Bucs win 24-10.
Week 16: Houston Texans @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Texans are in town week 17! The season is coming to an end and both of these teams are battling for a playoff spot. Houston’s weak secondary won’t be able to slow down the Evans and Godwin combo that Tampa Bay will grow to love this season. Deshaun Watson and his star WR DeAndre Hopkins will prove to be too much for Tampa’s defense. Texans win 35-21.
Week 17: Atlanta Falcons @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
This is it! The last game of the season and if the football gods are smiling down on the pirates of the NFL then a win this week could seal a trip to the wild card. Both teams have a lot riding on this game and will leave it all on the field. Jameis Winston and the Bucs offense outlast the Falcons this week and lead the Bucs to a win in a high scoring matchup to close out the season. Bucs’ win 35-34.
Season Prediction: 9-7
