III Points 2019 will begin in Miami this weekend running from Friday, February 15th to Sunday, February 17th. The sixth edition of the ever growing south Florida music festival features big names like Beach House, James Blake, Erykah Badu, A$AP Rocky, SZA and Tyler, the Creator. But since the beginning, the festival has always strived to have an almost 50/50 mix of local artists and national/international artists on its bill.  Here are a few must-see Florida locals that will be performing this weekend at Mana Wynwood during the III Points 2019.

Rachel Tumada, aka Ms. Mada, is a linchpin in the Miami music scene and a current resident DJ of Club Space and Trade Nightclub. She will be bringing the heat in the form of minimal techno and house for her second III Points appearance. Catch her at the Boiler Room stage before this woman takes over south Florida and soon the world! Saturday, February 16: 9:00 PM – 10:30 PM at Boiler Room

Miami based alternative electronic duo, Paperwater, is comprised of friends Daygee Kwia and Eddy Samy. The two producers blend elements of ambient electronic music with hip hop, R&B and trap to create a intense, unparalleled live performance. Paperwater recently shared the stage with Flying Lotus, Virgil Abloh and fellow local Nick León during a III Points Art Basel show in December. Friday, February 15: 10:00 PM – 10:45 PM at Sector 3

Danny Daze is no stranger to the decks or the III Points stage, being a long time alumni of the south Florida festival. A Miami local and DJ from the age of 14, Daze’s sets dip into electro, techno and hard disco, making any performance an unstoppable, high energy dance party. He will be playing B2B with Mariel Ito at 2:00AM for a massive three hour set on Monday…and yes, this festival doesn’t stop until 5:00 AM on Monday. Monday, February 18: 2:00 AM – 5:00 AM at Main Frame

Jaialai are a self proclaimed tropical shoegaze and psychedelic indie group from the 305. The quartet has been gaining some noticeable attention over the past year for their live shows, including a memorable set at this past year’s House of Creatives festival in November 2018. The psychedelic aspects of their music are only highented by the usual inclusion of a trippy light show. These guys rock! Sunday, February 17: 6:15 PM – 6:45 PM at Mind Melt

Dracula is a haunting yet romantic folk duo from Miami, who were recently featured on NPR’s Alt Latino in the fall of last year for their cover of Selena’s “Como La Flor.” The two have been playing music around the Miami area together for over 10 years. Dracula performs in up to five different languages to create a beautifully creepy and harmonious marriage of ethereal folk music. The band recently signed to local Miami label, Sweat Records Records. Friday, February 15: 6:00 PM – 6:30 PM at Sector 3

Local clothing brand STRATA will also be featured at this year’s festival, collaborating with III Points on a limited edition all black 3M windbreaker. Limited to just 100 pieces, these jackets will certainly sell out. STRATA is a lifestyle brand driven by music and street culture that is continually building their music oriented clothing collabs. Past collaborations including projects with Lollapalooza, Rolling Loud, Holy Ship, Club Space, Shaky Beats, Shaky Knees, ACL, and Sunset Music Festival. STRATA also recently provided DJ Ms. Mada with a customer denim jacket to sport during Art Basel this past December.

Honorable mentions and other locals you won’t want to miss: Millionyoung’s DJ set, POORgrrrl, Butterfly Snapple, Austin Paul, Steven A Clark, Otto Von Schirach, Richie Hell and Pirate Stereo, and Bear.
