From commenting on “successful looks” to “finding his voice,” Larkins’ comedic journey is personal. He says he didn’t start writing and telling jokes until he saw another comic killing it on stage and he thought, “I can do that.” That was back in 1993 and he’s been working ever since. He takes the stage with Desi Banks and Kennard Bright, 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10 and 7:30 & 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11 at The Comedy Club of Jacksonville, Southside, jacksonvillecomedy.com, $23-$28.
