No matter where she is in the universe – in the cozy Berlin apartment she shares with her beat-making husband Britt Traynham aka Batsauce, embarking on exotic Asian adventures or just chilling in a van down by the river –  all Lady Daisey needs is a little music, a lot of love and her fuzzy slippers to feel like home. Or get out of jury duty.

“As soon as I put on my fuzzy slippers, I’m home,” says the global songstress, who recently rocked the comfy kitty slippers during a wasted “hometown” day languishing in a potential jury pool at the Duval County Courthouse.

Daisey and Batsauce will play their first hometown show in three years Saturday at Rain Dogs with Geexella, Willie Evans and DJ Paten Locke. “I can’t wait to see everyone,” she says. “It’s going to be so much fun.”

A lot has happened since Daisey and Batsauce last set foot on Duval soil. They embraced van-life along the Pacific coast. They sublet their apartment in Berlin during the brutal winter months and traveled through Vietnam, Thailand and Laos. They connected with the Asian culture so much so that they have booked another six-month sojourn. So far, they have only accounted for two months of the journey, leaving a wide-open window for spontaneous adventure, maybe a trip to India.

Batsauce chronicled their past journeys in a series of beautiful photos that he posted on social media. Daisey works in software development and adjusts her 9-5 schedule to fit whatever time zone they are in at any given time. The couple are planning to create a travel blog beyond the standard where to stay, where to eat vibe. As it is with everything they do, it all about the sharing experience.

Experience Lady Daisey & Batsauce and friends Saturday at Rain Dogs, 1045 Park Street in Five Points.
