Gorillaz

Since their conception in 1998, Gorillaz have only played a handful of shows around the world. The digital cartoon band is now set to make their Florida debut, headlining at III Points Music, Art & Technology Festival in Miami, FL this October.

Brainchild of Blur frontman Damon Albarn and illustrator Jamie Hewlett, this British collaborative consist of fictional members 2-D, Murdoc Nickels, Noodle, and Russel Hobbs, in addition to a wide range of performers and musicians spanned over their five studio albums. The band combines everything from rock, electronica, and Britpop to hip hop and reggae, to create their distinct, ever-evolving sound. Albarn, the band’s only permanent member, has a long list of Gorillaz collaborations over the years including: Del the Funky Homosapien, De La Soul, Lou Reed, MF Doom, Mavis Staples, Snoop Dog, Bobby Womack, Little Dragon, and Mos Def, just to name a few.

The band’s latest studio album, Humanz, is set for release on April 28, and again features a wide array of partners like Vince Staples, Danny Brown, and Noel Gallagher, who have come together to create a futuristic, synth driven record. Famous for such songs as “Feel Good Inc.,” and “Clint Eastwood,” the Gorillaz will finally grace Floridians with a once in a lifetime performance this October at III Points.
