Dr. Steven Strange (Benedict Cumberpatch) is in his own, opinion the best surgeon in the city, if not the world. His hands are miraculous. His riches and financial wealth are to be envied. However after an unavoidable car crash he comes face to face with the realization that reality is much “Stranger” than it seems. The accident stole away his livelihood, his pride and his sought after surgeon abilities. He is now a doctor that must search the throughout the world for an elusive cure, to save himself. On his journey he ventures deeper into the realms of magic, the unknown and ancient mysticism.
I look forward to seeing Benedict Cumberpatch become the “Sorcerer Supreme.” Judging from the trailer they have taken his marvel title literarily by adding in all of the dreaminess and enchantment of the comics. I imagine this fantasy drama will be packed with hefty doses of action, supernatural theatrics and creative cinematography by Scott Derrickson (The Exorcism of Emily Rose/Sinister) . It reminds me of the film Inception (2010) but done with marvel-esque (Marvel Comics) flair.
