Blue-collar UK troubadour James Hunter has been labeled many things: British R&B, British soul, blue-eyed soul, etc. Those descriptions are on point, shedding light on the unique, original, and hard-to-pin-down sound that Hunter and his backing band have been delivering for the past 30 years. While this Grammy nominee is a favorite of critics, Hunter’s greatest hosanna is surely delivered by singer-songwriter Van Morrison, a longtime Hunter supporter, who’s even collaborated with the younger soul man.
