The pride of Trumansburg, New York, since 1989 Donna the Buffalo has been giving us a mix of rock, folk, country, and even Zydeco, the kind of synthesis that puts them snugly in the Jam/Americana/Jamericana (patent pending) scene. Need more proof? Their devoted (rabid) followers call themselves The Herd. Blech. However, before you fire off the hippie dispeller (aka “soap”), know that the band sets itself apart from the noodle-rich riffage that plagues certain peers with solid songwriting and undeniable skill.
