The former Action News First Alert Weather Team member and founder of Girls Gone Green has been organizing and leading protests across the state (including one in Hemming Park on Oct. 23), raising awareness for the opposition to the barbaric Florida bear hunt, which began on Oct. 24 and ended on Oct. 30, after more than 2,000 hunting licenses were issued and more than 300 bears were killed.

The Englewood High School and Jacksonville University grad was a playoff hero last week, helping to lead the New York Mets to the World Series with six home runs in six consecutive games, earning National League Championship series MVP honors along the way.
