A Week of Hops – Jax Beer Week

November 7-14 is Jax Beer Week! You can celebrate Jacksonville’s craft brew scene at any of your favorite local brew bars and spots. We’ve included a sampling of events during the week. The events are too numerous to name them all here, but you can see the Facebook or check in with any of the craft brewers to see what they have on tap for the week (literally and figuratively).

Nov 7

9am, Kickoff brunch at Brew Five Points

Starting at 10am, Learn to Homebrew Day at Just Brew It, next to Bold City. Homebrew competition starts at 1pm.

Nov 9

6:30pm Enjoy the sweeter things at A Night of Mead at Alewife in Five Points. Taste Harris Meadery’s local products and honey wines from Michigan’s B. Nektar. Search eventbrite for tickets $33 each.

Nov 10

5-8pm, Beer Garden with Engine 15 Brewing Company at Hemming Park featuring local beers from Engine 15 Brewing Company, live music, food truck fare, board games, lawn games, and more.

5-9pm At BurgerFi Riverside, find four Intuition Ale Works beers on tap and enjoy a $7 beer & burger special.

6:30pm At Alewife you can enjoy four desserts from Moxie Kitchen & Cocktails paired with four Funky Buddha beers. Tickets are $38, search on eventbrite.

8-10pm Get to Jacksonville Beach’s Hoptinger for Aardwolf Brewing pint night. Free glass, six Aardwolf beers on tap.

Nov 11

5-8pm Vanilla Imperial Stout Tapping at Green Room Brewing in Jacksonville Beach Some of the proceeds will go to the Sierra Club’s Right Whale program.

6:30pm Beer vs. Wine dinner at Royal Palm Village Wine & Tapas in Atlantic Beach. Five course pairing with Engine 15 beers and Stacole wines. Call (904) 372-0052 for reservations. Tickets are $65, includes the tax and tip.

Nov 12

5-7pm Proof Brewing tapping at Grape & Grain Exchange in San Marco

5:30pm San Marco Nights features three collaboration beers at Beer:30 in San Marco.

6:30pm A representative of Green Bench Brewing will speak on the science behind barrel aging, as well as how to use wild yeast in beer brewing at Alewife. Search eventbrite for tickets, $22.

8-10pm Proof Brewing tapping at Kickbacks.

Starting at 7pm, Due South beers will be featured at Burro Bar.

Nov 13

Starting at 5pm Intuition Ale Works will serve their patrons beers from the four corners of Florida: Engine 15 and Aardwolf Brewing out of Jax, Wynwood Brewing from Miami, Proof Brewing from Tallahassee, and Cigar City Brewing coming from Tampa.

Time TBD. Lumberjackies Pub Crawl. We don’t know much about this one, and we hope it’s real. Ladies dress up in fake beards and copious plaid, a-drinking and serving brew at some hip Riverside watering holes: M Shack, Alewife, Rain Dogs, Silver Cow and Dahlia’s Pour House. Please let this be more than a rumor.

Nov 14

Starting at 9am Jax Beer Week ends where it began. with a wrap-up brunch at BREW Five Points, featuring Aardwolf Brewing beer and beer cocktails. See the BREW Five Points Facebook’s events for more details.

2-6pm Florida Brewers Guild Barrel-Aged and Sour Fest at Intuition, for those that like a sour beer, check this mini-fest out for some locally brew that will give lemons a run for their money. Regular tickets go for $35 and VIP tickets are $50.
