dr-seuss-how-the-grinch-stole-christmasHello young Whos of Jacksonville,

I suppose you are all starting to think about that holiday coming up with blinking lights, buckets of cheer, and lots of noise, noise, NOISE. Christmas (or as I like to call it, Grinch-mas) is upon us and you are in for a Grinchy treat!

I hope you heard that I am coming to town December 1 (and if you haven’t, SURPRISE! I’m coming to town!) to share my secrets of how I stole Christmas. I will be staying at the Times-Union Center with my trusty canine Max the Dog until Sunday, December 6. By that time, all Jacksonville Who boys and Who girls will have had a chance to hear my story.

Besides seeing me (which I know you are all just THRILLED about), I have some exciting news for you! Those holiday-loving Whos have an extra special evening planned for December 1. The 14th annual Family Night on Broadway will be my shining performance! Be sure to check out the great ticket prices – they’re a Holiday “steal”! (See what I did there?!) Come to the Times-Union Center an hour early for the show and you get to participate in special pre-show activities! No Grinchy tricks here – just a holiday treat!

And hey! Someone told me that there are going to be some activities around town on November 13th and 14th. So many activities and opportunities to steal the spotlight! Jacksonville, you are one festive town (festivities, cheer… BLECH!) Anyway, as I’m a big fan, I’ll be taking a little trip around the city to play. Watch for an announcement of where I’ll be!

But that’s not all! My sources say that Santa Claus himself is going to be staying at the St. John’s Town Center in Jacksonville. Well, we can have NONE of that! No way will I let the big man in red cramp my style! So, here’s what I’m going to do—but don’t tell Santa or any of his elves! I will be sneaking over to the town center on November 14 and when the jolly old guy isn’t looking, I will snatch up the lights for the holiday tree in the center of the festivities at 8 p.m. We’ll see what ‘ole Santy Claus thinks of that!

So my little Who boys and Who girls, Who moms and dads –there are lots of ways for us to meet this season! But you must hurry! I am a very busy Grinch and tickets to my show are going fast! Take it from someone who has spent a very long time with me… (me! I’m great!) Visit www.artistseriesjax.org to learn more!

Happy Grinch-mas,

The GRINCH

Words by Amiyah Golden  As warm winds blow and the weather fluctuates, it can be difficult to really embrace that holiday spirit with the absence of snow blanketing the streets of Jacksonville. We often try to find ways to supplement that “White Christmas” feeling and rekindle that yuletide merriment.
