Look – we know that it’s not a contest, but singer-songwriter Jim Lauderdale boasts a creative track record that could (lovingly) pummel his peers. Since 1991, Lauderdale has released more than two-dozen solo efforts of his own progressive take on what country music can be. A perennial critical fave, Grammy-winning Lauderdale has also penned tunes for mainstream country acts like Vince Gill and Patty Loveless, but seems more at home working with left-of-field folks like Lucinda Williams, Elvis Costello, and, most recently, longtime Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter. If you want see an artist tuned into the past, present, and future of country music (and we know you do), this show is not to be missed.
