POWER DOWN: BEARS

Bears have been tormenting Floridians for far too long, according to lawmakers. On Monday (the first day the state of Florida began selling licenses), 600 permits were issued to bear-haters with the goal of killing 320 Florida bears (200 of which are to be from Northeast Florida counties). According to the Orlando Sentinal $100 for sunshine state residents and $300 for non-residents solicited from a local tax collector’s office or Wal-Mart (naturally) affords the purchaser the right kill one bear. As far as weaponry goes, from revolvers for Dirty Hairy fanatics to crossbows for Larpers –the bear hunt is sure to be murderous fun for everyone!
