THAI ONE ON
If you overindulge on the sake, Pattaya Thai on King has the perfect remedy. Pattaya’s traditional kee mau drunken noodle dish literally translates to “shit drunk” and is the dish intended to help relieve a hangover. Chef Russell recommends ordering kee mau extra spicy, and maybe with the Thai beer, Singha. These drunken noodles have traditional, freshly-grown holy basil, rather than a sweeter American basil found at other Thai restaurants.
Pattaya Thai, which opened two weeks ago on King Street, has kept the same traditional menu offered at its original location on Baymeadows Road. The number of items offered is less due to a smaller kitchen space, but the food is still cooked fresh to order, and the menu is flexible for vegans, vegetarians, and those on a gluten-free diet.
