Produced by Downtown Vision, Inc. and held each month from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.—rain or shine—the monthly First Wednesday Art Walk spans more than 15 blocks that includes more than 40 galleries, museums, cultural venues, restaurants, bars and businesses, plus dozens of artists in Hemming Park, street performers and live music.

THIS MONTH’S Don’t Miss Venues

‘Nacho’ average fiesta! Grab your sombrero for an art-tastic twist on Cinco de Mayo. Get into the spirit(s) with tequila, piña coladas and cerveza while you shake your maracas to live music by The Chris Thomas Band. The Jalapeño Truck and Latin Soul Grille bring the heat with spicy bites, and Dance Salsa Jax will help you burn the calories with a few hot moves. Plus, what’s a party without a game of giant Jenga or beer pong? Olé!

    Olé! Salsa your way Downtown this month for a fiesta you’ll never forget. Shake your maracas during live music by The Chris Thomas Band on the main stage, while sippin’ some delicious brews. Plus, play a game or two of giant Jenga or beer pong; feed your fiery appetite with food from The Jalapeño Truck or Latin Soul Grille; enjoy tunes by Brad & Sadie in Hemming Café and learn a few salsa moves from Dance Salsa Jax.

    Presents “Cigar Fiesta,” where you’ll enjoy Latin music and cigar specials. Sombreros are welcome!

    Learn about this iconic landmark with backstage tours at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. Cash bar only.


  • Southlight Gallery

    Experience live music by saxophonist Jarrell Harris while browsing artwork by Julianne French and Raquel Tripp.


  • MOCA Jacksonville

    Don’t miss a charcoal landscape drawing activity through the children’s ArtFusion program. Plus, peruse a new photography exhibition, “In Time We Shall Know Ourselves,” by Raymond Smith.

    Quench your thirst with delectable drink specials including spicy margaritas and ancho citrus rum punch.

    Debuts The Angels’ Dream Collection by Jami Childers, as well as A Collection of Works by Kenneth Balser.


  • Main Library

    Learn about the Spark Grant Program event “How to Build a Waterspirit” with artwork by artist Sara Crooks Flaire, funded by the Spark Grant Program and Florida Blue. Also, The Ritz Chamber Players will perform in the Hicks Auditorium at 7:30 p.m.


  • Underbelly

    Jesse Montoya hosts Open Mic from 5-9 p.m., followed by performances from indie-electronic up and comers Wise River and Bells & Robes. Free entry all night, along with free kegs starting at 9 p.m. and wells for a $1 at 11 p.m. DJ Lightwork & Datadiamond close out the night with latest in disco-trap, indie, chill wave, vapor wave, dark wave and tech house.
