Executive Women’s Day

Executive Women’s Day will celebrate the 50th event at THE PLAYERS on Monday, May 4. Capitalizing on a successful (and sold out) Executive Women’s Day in 2012, 2013 and 2014, THE PLAYERS will once again host over 250 women business leaders and decision makers for an Executive Women’s Day located at venues throughout the Stadium Course.

Executive Women’s Day is part of PGA TOUR Woman, the TOUR’s expanded women’s initiative, and Astellas is the Exclusive National sponsor of EWD in 2015. Astellas and the PGA TOUR are working together to unify and grow the TOUR’s community of female fans through shared attitudes and interests., as well as inform women about important health and wellness issues, encourage discussion on those topics and create opportunities to talk and learn about them.

PGA TOUR Wives Association and Community PedsCare®

9:30-11 a.m. – Stadium Village

On Tuesday, May 5, the PGA TOUR Wives Association and THE PLAYERS will host children and families from Wolfson Children’s Hospital and Community PedsCare for a fun-filled, music themed morning at Stadium Village.  “These Kids Can Jam! Presented by EverBank benefiting Community PedsCare” highlights the importance of music therapy.  Jim Furyk’s wife, Tabitha Furyk, is the chairperson of this event for the PGA TOUR Wives Association, and many other TOUR players and their spouses will be in attendance to interact with the kids.  The Jacksonville Zoo will be onsite with various animals from the zoo and each of the children in attendance will be receive books donated by Books-A-Go-Go.

Birdies for the Brave® Patriots’ Outpost

Throughout tournament week, all active duty and Reserve military members, military retirees, and their dependents will have access to the Birdies for the Brave Patriots’ Outpost, a hospitality tent reserved exclusively for the military which offers complimentary food, beverages and activities.  Located near the tee at No. 16, the Patriots’ Outpost is financially supported by THE PLAYERS and Jacksonville-area companies and individuals.  In 2014, more than 14,000 military members and their families were hosted in The Patriots’ Outpost. For 2015, THE PLAYERS is expanding the size of the Birdies for the Brave® Patriots’ Outpost to accommodate more of our service men and women during the tournament.  This exapansion will make it the largest Birdies for the Brave® Patriots’ Outpost at a PGA TOUR tournament.

The Birdies for the Brave Patriots’ Outpost will officially open on Military Appreciation Day,Tuesday, May 5, at 11 a.m. with Commissioner Finchem hosting a short program.

Rob Strano Golf Clinic for the Deaf and Blind

11:15 a.m. – 2 p.m. – Dye’s Valley / Stadium Village

Rob Strano will host a unique clinic which offers students at the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind golf instruction in sign language. This is the only known golf clinic of its kind. The students range in ages from 10-18 years old and most have never had exposure to the game of golf or the opportunity to attend THE PLAYERS Championship.

The clinic will take place on the Dye’s Valley Course followed by a hands-on experience at PwC’s First Tee Challenge at Stadium Village.

After 15 years as a professional golfer, Rob Strano decided to utilize his golf skills in order to help the deaf and hard-of-hearing community. In 2003, he began studying sign language in a quest to bridge an existing gap between the game of golf and the hearing impaired. By 2004, Strano held his first clinic in Florida and since has toured around the country bring the sport he loves to those who may have never been able to learn to golf.

PwC’s First Tee Chapter Shootout Competition

4-5 p.m. – Stadium Village

PwC, a Trustee of The First Tee and Proud Partner of THE PLAYERS Championship, will host approximately 250 local young people from The First Tee of North Florida during Tuesday’spractice round. Participants will face off in a team competition in PwC’s First Tee Challenge, located in Stadium Village, for an opportunity to receive a charitable donation from PwC.

PGA TOUR players (TBD) will serve as team captains, and Golf Channel’s Gary Williams will emcee the event. All participants had the opportunity to take aim at the scaled replica of No. 17, earning charitable donations from PwC for every ball hit – with bonuses for those closest to the pin.

Military Appreciation Day

Military Appreciation Ceremony and Big & Rich Performance

THE PLAYERS is more than a golf tournament and a showcase of elite golf and a world-class facility.  THE PLAYERS week is filled with activities that highlight the “good side of sports,” most notably, a commitment to honoring the men and women who serve in the U.S. Military.  New in 2015, THE PLAYERS will host the Military Appreciation Ceremony and concert onTuesday, May 5.

Big & Rich will cap off the Military Appreciation Day program on the TPC Sawgrass Clubhouse Lawn which will include pageantry by military personnel, a flyover, and a National Anthem performance by rising country artist Cali Rodi. Speakers at the Military Appreciation ceremony include:

All of the PGA TOUR players who are participating in their first PLAYERS Championship meet on the lower clubhouse presentation lawn for a one-of-a-kind group press conference on Wednesday.

Wednesday, May 6 (3-4 p.m.)

The PGA TOUR’s fan meetup at THE PLAYERS is back for the fifth-straight year. OnWednesday, May 6, from 3-4 p.m., PGA TOUR social media fans will take over “The Patio,” located near the 18th green, for an exclusive meetup with PGA TOUR star James Hahn. The meetup will include prize giveaways, autograph opportunities and special guest appearances.

To attend, fans must have a practice round ticket for THE PLAYERS ($20 at Publix and RSVP in advance through Eventbrite at  Practice round admission is good all day Wednesday, and tournament parking is free. Spend the day at THE PLAYERS watching your favorite players on the course, meet up with fellow fans in the afternoon and stay for a great show!

The Patio is a shaded area between the 18th green and 16th tee, featuring permanent restrooms and the first social media board showcasing fan tweets, Facebook posts and Instagram pictures from THE PLAYERS. THE PLAYERS Championship Caddie Competition in memory of Bruce Edwards

Each year at THE PLAYERS Championship – during the Wednesday practice round – players and caddies switch roles when they arrive at the famous 17th hole, and the caddies get the opportunity to take a swing.   Each player contributes to the prize fund and the caddie who ends up closest to the pin takes home the money.

This is a great tradition unique to THE PLAYERS and one that provides an added layer of entertainment for the fans, players and caddies alike.  The competition is named to honor Tom Watson’s longtime caddie and friend Bruce Edwards, who passed away in 2004 from ALS or “Lou Gehrig’s Disease.”  The PGA TOUR will match any donations the caddies/players make, with all the money going to the Bruce Edwards Foundation.

Dreams Come True VIP visit during THE PLAYERS Championship


As part of the its relationship with Dreams Come True (, the PGA TOUR creates opportunities for the families of children undergoing treatment for life-threatening illnesses to enjoy special experiences as part of the TOUR’s “Together, anything’s possible” charitable mission.  During this year’s PLAYERS Championship, the TOUR will welcome two Dreams Come True families to experience THE PLAYERS Championship.

Wednesday is designated as “Dream Day,” and both families will enjoy breakfast (8 a.m.) in the Greenside Lounge.  From 9:30-10:30 a.m., they will be treated to an inside-the-ropes experience on the 17th tee box during THE PLAYERS Championship Caddie Competition in memory of Bruce Edwards, including meet-and-greets and autograph opportunities with TOUR players.

The Lot Party: Live at The Lot benefitting Corporate America Supports You

Funds raised from the event will help provide no-cost employment readiness, vocational training, and one-on-one job placement services for National Guard, Reserves, transitioning service members, veterans, military spouses, homeless female veterans, war wounded and caregivers of war wounded. YMCA of Florida’s First Coast will host The After Partee with food, drinks and entertainment by the Yacht Rock Revue. Proceeds from the event will enable the YMCA to send children from underserved communities to summer camps across the First Coast to help prevent summer learning loss. Founded by former All-Pro Jaguars player Tony Boselli, the Boselli Foundation provides educational and character development programs to at-risk children in Jacksonville. The Lot Party: Fancy Pants Party hosted by First Coast Blessings in a Backpack

Blessings in a Backpack will host the Fancy Pants Party with food, drinks and entertainment by Space Capone. Funds raised from Fancy Pants will go directly to the Duval County chapter of Blessings in a Backpack, which provides children on the federal free and reduced lunch program a backpack full of food each weekend during the school year so they are assured nourishment when they’re not in class. PINK OUT and Mother’s Day at THE PLAYERS

In honor of Mother’s Day, which falls on the final round of THE PLAYERS (Sunday, May 10), the event will once again stage a “PINK OUT” on Championship Sunday in celebration of mothers and in support of 26.2 with DONNA’s breast cancer marathon for research and care.

In conjunction with Sunday’s “PINK OUT,” players, caddies, sponsors, volunteers and fans are encouraged to wear pink to TPC Sawgrass in support of 26.2 with DONNA, a local charitable organization that raises funds for ground-breaking breast cancer research at Mayo Clinic and women living with breast cancer.  26.2 with DONNA is also the event’s “Charity of the Day.” For every fan in attendance on Championship Sunday, THE PLAYERS will make a donation to 26.2 with DONNA. In 2014, 26.2 with DONNA earned a donation of $20,000 on Championship Sunday.

Fans can spend the entire day celebrating with mom, even before final-round competition begins.  A non-denominational church service will take place on the Presentation Lawn (7-8 a.m).

7-8 a.m. – Clubhouse Lawn
For the 31st year, THE PLAYERS will host a Sunday morning service prior to the final round of the tournament, this year on the TPC Sawgrass Lower Clubhouse Lawn. Fans are encouraged to gather on the Lower Presentation Lawn for a sermon given by a local pastor. Seating will be provided and complimentary coffee and donuts are available for all in attendance.

Closing Ceremonies

Approximately 7 p.m. – Clubhouse Lawn

THE PLAYERS Closing Ceremonies will once again be held on the Lower Clubhouse Lawn, where THE PLAYERS Trophy will be on display during the week, allowing fans to surround the stage and get closer than ever to the new champion.  Not only will the ceremony be televised live on Golf Channel – giving fans the chance to be seen on TV – but the 2015 winner will also sign a limited number of commemorative PLAYERS pin flags to distribute to some lucky fans who stick around to congratulate him.
