PLAYING @ EU’s ONE SPARK MUSIC CREATORS SHOWCASE at UNDERBELLY – Saturday, April 11 – 9:00 p.m.

Marathon Runner is a five-piece indie rock/dream pop band, born and raised in Jacksonville, FL. Their sound is a balancing act between the nostalgic synth-pop textures of the 80s and the unknown and uncharted aesthetics of the future. Their songs traverse many musical genres along the way, including new wave, post-punk, Americana, and shoegaze. The band is happy to be making music in this current era, because the great wall between pop music and ‘high-art’ is now nearly nonexistent. Above all else, Marathon Runner loves playing live. Shows are less about performance, and more about sharing moments with groups of people. Music is about having fun and being communal, and that’s what gives the band the most joy. Eric Dawkins: Electric Guitar, Vocals; Lindsey Brenner: Acoustic Guitar, Vocals; Jacob Hudson: Keys, Vocals; Christian José-Morrison: Drums and Sean Burns: Bass.
