GastroFest

VOID-GoldenTicketComing to Hemming Park on March 21st is GastroFest! Presented by GastroJax and hosted by Friends of Hemming, GastroFest will include restaurants, local food providers, local craft beer, cookbook authors, chef demos, and tastings, all to celebrate the food culture of the First Coast. You might know GastroFest as a 2014 One Spark project which made the top 20 out of over 600 projects and won the Golden Ticket from Void magazine and Adjective & Co. As part of winning the Golden Ticket, Adjective & Co. have designed the GastroJax logo, which was introduced late last month.

Farm to San Marco

Since One Spark, GastroJax has held two fundraisers, the Damn Good Dim Sum Dinner at Blue Bamboo and Decadent Duval at Orsay. They’ve also been present at Envirofest, Green Lion and the Home & Patio Show and helped organize Farm to San Marco.

GastroFest

Food lovers should check out the GastroFest crowdfunding campaign up this month on indiegogo.com. GastroJax will be hosting food events throughout the year, as part of their mission to raise awareness of the Jacksonville culinary scene. Right now, you can join the GastroJax Culinary Club through some of the Indiegogo perks. Benefits of the GastroJax Culinary Club include early ticket release for members, discounts to future events and access to special events.

Other perks for crowdfunding GastroFest include cooking classes, taste tickets to GastroFest, Burro Bag totes, restaurant gift certificates, cooking classes, tickets to live events and more! Verde Eco-Salon, jaxlive.com, Moxie, Blue Bamboo, Brewer’s Pizza, The Candy Apple, Corner Taco, Culhane’s, Metro Diner, Tres Leches Eatery, Mezza Restaurant and North Beach Fish Camp have all contributed to the perks. GastroJax will be using the funds primarily to cover insurance costs for GastroFest 2015, but the more you give the more and the more awesome GastroFest will be.
