Worldwide, there are an estimated 15 million-plus people addicted to drugs or alcohol. Since 2005, Runwell: The Linda Quirk Foundation has been addressing these staggering statistics by staging sports competitions to benefit international addiction treatment programs and centers. The University of North Florida holds its inaugural Runwell 4 Life Festival, with a 5K trail run, zipline course challenge, kayaking and canoeing, info booths and a musical performance by Sugarland frontman Kristian Bush.
