Paul Collins first made his mark on the music scene with the seminal L.A. power pop band The Nerves. Their 1976 tune “Hanging on the Telephone” later became a hit for Blondie, and Collins and crew’s blend of melodic rock and edgy punk went on to influence bands like The Knack and The Plimsouls. Since then, Collins and his backing band The Beat have released more than a dozen releases and garnered a worldwide following of loyal fans, including Green Day, who performed Collins’ “Walking Out on Love” during the Broadway run of their American Idiot musical
