This years 2014 Metro PCS Great Atlantic Festival at the Post to Post Links II error: No link found for term slug "Ocean Seawalk Pavilion" is the perfect way to start off the St Patrick’s weekend. It is a wondrous occasion for everyone to get together and just enjoy themselves on a Saturday. The company of family and friends is always a blessing. There were tons of fun activities for everyone to enjoy. Plenty of variety food at vendors, enjoyable music, kid zone where the kids can play and have the time of their lives. And it’s a beautiful and glorious day.

The weather was cool and sunny, roughly 75 degrees. Lots of friendly people had good things to say about this event. Some were here for no particular reason, just to be around people and have fun. One participant by the name of Laura said about the festival. “The atmosphere here is such a great place to celebrate Saint Patty’s weekend” A beautiful young lady happened to stroll down the strip with a group of friends on their bikes. “Not here for no particular reason she said” She is a local. “There’s so much to do here at the beach. It feels like a picnic. Sort of like an outdoor theatre but with music. Love the vibe and the scenery she said. Mr. Johnson, a father of 3 takes his sip of beer when I ask why his wife couldn’t be here? “My wife ran the River Run this morning and will meet with me shortly after her nap. She loves the beach here, especially when there are festivals such as this one.”

The cooking staff looked hard at work, people lining up to order. Preparing foods like turkey legs, ham, chicken salads, fried chicken, gorgeous golden brown fish and onion rings, ribs and burgers. Along with ice cream and desert for all ages.

KIDS ZONE. So many kids playing. getting their faces painted, jumping on trampolines, running wild and having fun. I asked one of the parents there if this event is perfect for kids. “Yeah, what a way to take your kid out for ice cream and let them play with other kids. Plus gives me the chance to get out of the house, to have a few beers and listen to cool music.” Then I asked the father’s son if the kids here are playing nice and the 6 year old kid shook his head with a big smile and responded yes, then took off running to play in the playhouse. The playhouse looked like so much fun, has a slide and everything. Makes me wish I was a kid again. So I pretended just for a moment, an imaginary thought of me goofing around in the playhouse. I loved slides when I was a kid.

People from all over Florida came to Jacksonville for the weekend, from West Palm Beach to Miami, FernaNdina, Orlando, Georgia, Gainesville and North Carolina. Very friendly and down to earth people. The place wasn’t overcrowded and you could practically sit and eat anywhere. Plenty of Security checking bags before going in and making sure no cup of alcohol was going out of the premises. All around it was worth the drive. The Beach area with fun activities such as a music festival is a great way to bring the community together and to kick of St. Patty’s Day weekend. Watch for the George’s Music Springing The Blues Festival, April 4-6.
