In March, the bar Sidecar will be opening at 1406 Hendrix Avenue. It recently made Details Magazine’s blog in their 2014 Bar Watch list, as one of the 11 most exciting new venues in the country. They’ll serve beer on tap, wine, different versions of the titular drink (the Sidecar) and will feature fresh Florida citrus as mixers. Decor will be simple but classy.
Appleby’s is revamping six of their locations with new local community-themed décor. They’ve started with the Lane Avenue Appleby’s.
Veloce Pizzeria Napoletana plans to open in March, about a block away from Aardwolf in San Marco.
Sakura Buffet will be opening at Regency Plaza, at least according to the sign in the window. It will be in the same plaza as the Office Max, near Regency Square Mall on Atlantic Boulevard.
Tuesdays Tapas Tuesdays at The Cafe at The Cummer Every Tuesday night from 5-7 pm, enjoy wine and tapas at The Cafe. It’s fast becoming the place to see and be seen at the Cummer. The new patio is spread under gorgeous oaks, and there’s always live music.
Feb 2 Dim Sum Sunday If you haven’t experienced dim sum, Blue Bamboo is the place to go. For those who haven’t had dim sum, it’s a bit like an Asian appetizer extravaganza. Blue Bamboo holds Dim Sum Sunday just ONCE a month. Check on their website for the next date, if you missed this month.
Feb 8 Bella Luna: A Magical Night Under the Stars Bring your valentine to MOSH to enjoy a magical night complete with romantic rooftop stargazing and a roving magician. The event will also include Cosmic Concerts, live music, and access to Museum exhibits. Decadent desserts and appetizers will be served along with beer and wine. Bella Luna will take place from 7 to 11 pm. Reservations and pre-payment are required. Tickets are $70 per couple for the general public and $55 per couple for MOSH Members. Feb 22 Riverside Craft Beer Fest From noon-5pm enjoy our local brews at the Riverside Arts Market! Proceeds benefiting the Rotary Club of Riverside. Food trucks will abound. Find them on Facebook under Riverside Craft Beer Fest for more info!

Feb 28 Mead Tasting Sample eight different meads on draft. Learn a little about each mead and their brewery while you enjoy your meads and light snacks. Mead, also known as honey wine, is regarded as the oldest of fermented beverages and has stood the test of time. Come anytime between 4-10pm. March 1, 2014 Second Annual Amelia Island International Wine and Food Tasting International wines and craft beers will be served as well as delicious samplings from island restaurants, including BarZin, Crab Trap, Espana, Horizons, Gourmet Gourmet, Salty Pelican, Sonny’s, and others. The VIP Tasting will be from 6-7:30 pm. Tickets are $100 and also include the Main Event. The Main Event will be from 7:30-9:30 pm. Tickets are $65. Black tie optional.
