It’s the perfect time to de-stress, wander the museum for an hour, then drink some wine, nibble on tapas and enjoy the live entertainment. Enjoy samples of wines before you pick the one you’ll be drinking. Tapas Tuedays has a special menu of small, plated items to go with whatever beer or wine you happen to be drinking. You can, of course, always ask for the full menu.

After a few wines at Tapas Tuesday, you can hit the museum shop for some Christmas decorations or a way to cross gifts off your list. This year they’ve stocked some trendy “driftwood” Christmas trees, which have a kind of upscale-rustic look. As for gifts, they have the usual dishtowels and placards with pithy sayings such as “I love you more” and “Christmas calories don’t count.” They also carry plenty of stuff for folks that are a bit harder to shop for. There’s Michel Design Work Soap and Bloembox (which has seeded ribbons for various flowers) for stocking stuffers, all kinds of art-centric books for both kids and adults, bold accessories, objets d’art, jewelry, Jacksonville themed dishes or ornaments, pretty things for the garden and more. Museum shops like this one have often been the saving grace for many a stumped shopper.
