The light rain could not keep the Dacanay family from a clean sweep at the 2013 Aqua East Stand Up Paddleboard Race at Outback Crab Shack today. Ed Dacanay won first place in the men’s three mile race, wife Gigi won first place in the women’s three mile race and nine-year old son Noah won first place in the kids division. A family that SUP’s together wins together!
This year’s wakeboard event was one for the record books! Aqua East attracts names like, Billabong, Hyperlite, Cobian, Anarchy, Nautique and Malibu for a one day event of wakeboarding, wake skating and most of all, having fun! This year was unique because we had pro riders from all over the country fly in to St. Augustine to hang out with our local riders. True superstars like Scott Byerly, Jeff Langley, Michael Dowdy, Shawn Watson and George Daniels came out and coached, judged and took pictures with our local riders.
