LEO (July 23-Aug. 22): “My story isn’t sweet and harmonious like invented stories,” wrote novelist Herman Hesse. “It tastes of folly and bewilderment, of madness and dream, like the life of all people who no longer want to lie to themselves.” As interesting as Hesse’s words are, they’re not gospel. Envision the possibility: When folks reduce the number of lies they tell themselves, their lives may be sweeter and more harmonious. I propose that exact scenario now. There may be a rough adjustment period as you cut back on self-deceptions, but eventually your folly and bewilderment diminish as sweet harmony grows.
