Bouquets to Jessica Geronimo for being honored with the Mary J. Brogan Excellence in Teaching Award. The statewide award honors an educator who goes above and beyond the classroom experience. Geronimo is a teacher of students with autism at St. Johns County School District’s Transition School and the county’s Teacher of the Year. She received a $1,000 cash award and certificate from State University System Chancellor Frank T. Brogan, whose wife Mary Brogan, for whom the award is named, died of cancer in 1999.
