A key role is the singing Narrator, brilliantly performed by Jessica Booth, who grew up at the Alhambra where she learned the art of acting and singing from her parents, Lisa and Tod Booth. Jessica is a recent graduate of the BFA Musical Theatre Program at University of Central Florida and will be heading to NYC after this show.
Of course, any production of Joseph rises and falls on shoulders of the actor playing the title role. This production is riding high, carried by the considerable and capable talents of Alex Jorth. You may remember Alex from his recent role as the leading man in the Alhambra’s Crazy for You. He obviously has a well trained voice and knows how to use it, which, along with his good looks, makes the ladies swoon. With his surfer-slim body (he has his shirt off a lot) and a smile that goes on forever, he is a winner and you are going to love him.
As an added attraction, eighteen future musical stars, who make up the “Children’s Ensemble” sing as a chorus while either sitting on or just off the stage on the sides. Under the direction of Resident Musial Director Michael Ursua, they are a delightful plus.
Rounding out this talented cast are: Allan Baker, Danielle Marie Raniere, David Tanciar, Jaymeson Metz, Cedric Paige, Chris Robertson, Cory Escsobar, Jonathan Mousset, Damian Barray, Heather Beirne and Katie Hensley.
