LEO: July 23-Aug. 22

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22): In 1926, surrealist artist Max Ernst painted “The Blessed Virgin Chastising the Infant Jesus in Front of Three Witnesses.” It shows Mary spanking her son as he lies on her lap. Nowadays, the image isn’t nearly as scandalous as it was at first. Even some Christians I know find it amusing, portraying Jesus as a real human being with lessons to learn.
