Now that the Academy Award nominations have been announced, it’s time to catch up on the best films of 2012.

Decide for yourself which films deserve the highly desired golden statuette, since many of the top tier are still playing — or back for a second run — around Northeast Florida, and you can rent or buy others. The 85th Academy Awards ceremony is held 7 p.m. Feb. 24.
