ABA 3D RULE ADDS EXCITEMENT TO THE GAME
The ABA’s 3D rule is really quite simple, allowing a team to gain an extra point to their basket whenever they score after stealing the ball from the other team. More specifically, the 3D rule is in effect when the offensive team fails to cross half court with possession of the ball. So, the Giants will often put on a “full court press” defense to try and steal the ball and score a 3D basket! If the defense is on, then one additional free throw is given as well. 3 point baskets count as 4!
