Al Letson – Kickstarter

Local poet, playwright and host of NPR and PRX’s State of the Re:Union (SOTRU), Al Letson, needs a little help from his hometown.
Al’s team is halfway through their Kickstarter campaign, to help the show raise $20,000 to fund an additional three episodes for their third season. SOTRU has until November 15th to hit their goal, otherwise they will receive nothing. The three new episodes will be centered around education and the military.
To help bolster the Kickstarter campaign, State of the Re:Union is holding events next week, including:
Wednesday, November 7th
An Evening with Al and Friends
At 7:00pm, 7:30pm, 8:00pm & 8:30pm
Studio 121 – 121 W. Forsyth Street, Jacksonville
Al Performs with Larry Knight and David Girard

Friday, November 9th
Happy Hour with Al at Intuition Ale Works
Beginning at 5pm
Intuition Ale Works – 720 King Street, Jacksonville
$1 from every beer sold will be donated to Kickstarter campaign

Sunday, November 11th
Live Two-Hour Jacksonville Broadcast from WJCT
From 2:00 to 4:00pm – WJCT 89.9 FM or Online
Al Letson and Karen Feagins host live broadcast of Jacksonville episode

State of the Re:Union is an award-winning public radio show, distributed by NPR and PRX, that shares the stories of everyday people doing extraordinary work to help each other, to engage their community, and to overcome obstacles. Host Al Letson travels the country to explore the little ways that individuals and communities can make a major impact.
The show is in its third season, and the recently released fall season features episodes from Jacksonville and a radio drama based on Al’s one-man play “Summer in Sanctuary.”
