On Thursday October 25th, local poet and performer Love Reigns will have a special edition of Artis(Tree) featuring a live DJ Cypher. This event will be an opportunity for a few local DJ’s to get the recognition they deserve.
“Most DJ’s don’t get the recognition they deserve because they’re in the background,” said Love Reigns. “The reality is, most times without the DJ there is no party, so I wanted to create an event where the DJ’s will get the recognition and be brought to the forefront.”
The DJ’s expected to perform are: DJ Al Pete, DJ No Fame, DJ Monsta along with Artis(Tree)’s resident DJ, DJ Bless for the People. The event will primarily be focused on the DJ’s but there will also be poets and singers performing during the open mic portion of the event.
“People can expect good vibes, good people and good entertainment,” said Love Reigns. “I want to create a house party feel, where there’s no drama, just dancing, laughter, entertainment and the DJ’s feeding off of one another to create one amazing night.”
The event will be held at Club TSI (333 E. Bay st.). It’s across from the old courthouse Downtown next to Mark’s and Dive Bar. Tickets are $7 in advance and $15 at the door. Doors open at 8pm and the show will begin promptly at 9pm. Also for more information, be sure to check out the event’s Facebook page.
