easy, breezy spring fashions

With the weather heating up, get ready to stock your closet with cute styles that will get you through spring and into the hot summer months. What’s on my wish list for May?
funky flats: I am obsessing over these gorgeous ikat fabric espadrilles from Elizabeth and James. These shoes are practical and perfect for that sophisticated hippie look. Pair them with jeans, a maxi dress or a mini skirt and you’re sure to pull off this style.
spring palette: Makeup has never really been my forte and I like to carry everything I need in one compact. This spring, the Garden Bliss collection from Stila has natural-colored eyeshadows and a pretty pink blush for a rosy-cheeked glow.
hobo bags: I love that these slouchy round-bottom bags are back in style this year. Put a little (or a lot) of fringe on it and you’ll be as golden as the sun. Don’t like wearing yellow clothing? A handbag is the perfect way to work in a trendy color that might not look right on your skin tone!
chiffon skirt: This American Apparel skirt is most likely going to be covering the hips of thousands of trend setters around the country. Although these pieces reach a wide market, you can still customize the styles and add your own look to each piece. Simplicity has been my thing lately, so you’ll probably catch me pairing this little number with a basic tank top. Don’t get too attached to these of-the-minute pieces though; they tend to fall apart as quickly as the trends.
