EVERY SATURDAY Under the Fuller Warren Bridge, just a block from the Cummer, you can find RAM, where local artists sell their wares and neighborhood events take place.
MARCH 5TH, OPENING DAY Everyone is invited to participate in the opening ceremonies which will kick off at 10 am. The Stanford Drumline will be on site to welcome Mayor Payton, who will be arriving at 10:30 by water taxi to conduct a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new boat dock at the market. Following the ribbon-cutting, the Mayor will speak briefly and will welcome everyone to the 3rd season of RAM. We are pleased to have many of our finest artists and vendors returning to RAM this year, as well as several new ones! There are also several new food vendors coming in this year to offer a wonderful variety of snacks.
MARCH 12TH, TOYOTA FARM TO TABLE TOUR AND RIVERKEEPER DAY Toyota will kick off their 2011 Farm to Table Tour at the Riverside Arts Market! Several local chefs will be partnering with local farmers/growers to create healthy dishes using local produce. Visitors will get to sample the fine faire and will receive a free potted herb plant. The St. John’s Riverkeeper will also be at RAM providing information about the river, conservation and environmental protection. There are also plans to provide Riverkeeper rides from RAM’s new boat dock.
MARCH 19TH , RIVER CLEANUP CELEBRATION The City of Jacksonville is hosting the volunteer appreciation party at RAM following River Cleanup activities. Volunteers will receive their participation packets, lunch, and will be entered into a drawing for RAM Bucks, which can be spent at any RAM vendor. Patrick Evans, a River Cleanup favorite, will be performing with a great mix of environmentally-friendly and top hit songs.
There are many special themes planned for the 2011 season including: Boating Day, Fishing Day, Yoga Day, Bike Day, “I Do @ RAM,” Women in the Arts, Literary Day, and many more! www.riversideartsmarket.com
