It is hard to believe that the holidays are here again. With the season comes a slew of parties in need of oh-so-festive attire. Although the mere thought of fighting the holiday madness can evoke a panic attack, looking good is worth it. Read on and then keep these tips in mind when you hit the stores (Go LO!) to put together your holiday style.

Fur-tastic
Be it faux (like Chanel!) or genuine mink, vintage or new, wear it how you wish, just wear it. A couple of my favorites include fur bags, boots with a fluffy fur trim and a vintage rabbit jacket complete with a hood! Take a little weight off your conscience by seeking out a vintage fur. You are reusing something that was already produced to cut down on waste, and, hey, those critters were turned into a coat long before you could take a stand against it, right?
All that Glitters
Obviously a go-to for fancy is to add in anything with sparkle. This season that special glimmer could come from dresses trimmed with golden accents, mesh purses and head pieces with so much bling you can see it from space. Just make sure not to overdo it, a little goes a long way.
Jewel Tones
Think the richest shades of eggplant or jade. Although for fancy affairs, black is always an easy go-to, but why not add some color into your look with rich shades of eggplant and jade? Snag the holiday palette from NARS and experiment with a poppy blue eye shadow or a sultry magenta lip.
So studly
Whether you want to add a little rocker chic to your wardrobe with the little silver or gold accouterments or you just need something that can double as a weapon, you are in luck this season. Cuffs, bags, shoes and even apparel are studded out! Add a Rebecca Minkoff clutch to your holiday wishlist and if Santa’s feeling extra generous this year, you’ll be sporting that by New Years Eve!
It was always mesh and lace
I love the way lace has been continuously reinvented over the past few seasons. This holiday look for lace dresses with a romantic silhouettes or vintage inspired cuts, a la Great Gatsby. Not feeling all that frill? Find a lovely lace top, pair it with black pants and heels, and you are good to go.
You want the perfect look to make that cute office dude do a double take at the company party? A perfect look would be a lace sheath dress, paired with studded heels and complete with a chunky gold cuff. Do not forget to stash a “this-color-gives-me-power” bold lipstick into a sleek metallic clutch and you will be celebrating in style.
