Vampire Weekend-Oct 14 St.A Amphitheatre

New York-based indie quintet Vampire Weekend emerged on the scene in 2006 after blogs like Stereogum got a hold of their music and raved about their unique sound. Adding a worldbeat flavor to their brand of pop rock, the band quickly took off, getting signed to XL Recordings less than 18 months later and maintaining a spot on nearly every “Best of” list ever since.
On January 11th Vampire Weekend unveiled their sophomore release Contra, which has spawned three hit singles thus far and further cemented the band’s status as one of the hottest acts in music today. Following the release of Contra, Vampire Weekend has spent most of their time on tour and has performed on the main stage of some of the biggest festivals in the world this summer.
This month the band returns to St. Augustine for the first time in two years. Last time the band performed in front of a packed house at Café Eleven. This time around Vampire Weekend has graduated to the big stage at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre. On October 14 they’ll bring with them Malawian artist the very best and dream-pop duo Beach House.
